SMACH is a constellation of art, culture and history in the Dolomites. It is an openair exhibition that represents the combination of “art and nature”, where the latter acts as the display of the artistic creations, designed and tailored specifically to the various sites. It is an international art competition that celebrates its third edition this year. The artists involved have staged their works in 9 places of historical and cultural interest in the towns of San Martino in Badia and Marebbe. Their artworks have the aim of sparking people's interest for art and enhancing the area of the Dolomites in which they are immersed. Through a dialogue between art and nature, the artists want to promote thorough and ongoing consciousness of the historical, cultural and traditional aspects of the area. Visitors will be involved emotionally thanks to a prolific combination of amazing nature, timeless architecture and contemporary art. The theme of this edition is CONTRAST as, although it generates a tangle, the integration of artworks into nature, it also creates a contrast between human intervention and natural evolution that is inherent in the environment. The exhibition will be open from July 1 to September 9.
