Arrojo Creative is a project in a succession of projects we have designed for Arrojo Salon. The project was to design the creative offices for the company, where the Arrojo Design team could develop new products and ideas, and conceive of new methods of promoting the brand. The space was designed to be a combination of a photography studio, a design office and corporate head quarters. The large rectangular loft space is located in the same building as the Soho Salon and has four large west facing windows and has a very simple program. The space was organized around a large red block, which divided the studio space from the office space, with sliding plastic and wood panels that divide the two. The office has one long communal desk along one wall and storage within the red block. The open studio space, has multiple functions, including, photo studio, conference room, demonstration space for teaching. There is floor to ceiling hidden storage across one-wall and photography backdrop and projection screens that pull down from the ceiling. The concrete floor was in bad condition once the glued down carpet of the previous occupant was removed, so we painted it a light grey. The concrete ceiling was exposed and painted white, along with all the exterior walls. The focus of the space became the red block, red being the signature color that we developed for the salon.
