Open Source Architecture, LLC (OSA) is an international architecture firm with locations in Los Angeles, St. Louis and Tel Aviv. Our broad international experience and exposure to diverse cultures allows us to be sensitive to listening and being responsive to the communities that inhabit and interact with our projects. Our main emphasis is placed on designing dynamic social spaces that encourage interaction between a wide range of people while simultaneously developing a strong sense of identity. We believe that place-making is also linked to the accelerated changes occurring in our contemporary culture, technological and environmental conditions.
We focus on the relation between the architectural object and its environment, being natural, artificial or even virtual. This approach to architecture recognizes the necessity to reconsider the nature of the architectural object as a dynamic system that stems from transdisciplinary collaborations with experts in structural and civil engineering, computer sciences, environmental design, and manufacturing among others. The firm’s name, Open Source Architecture communicates our open and collaborative structure that encourages listening to communities, user groups and various experts in order to synthesize a broad range of concerns, challenges and opportunities that each project creates.
